[Reporter Wu Mengru/Taipei Report] The Chinese Olympic Committee held the "2026 4th Dhaka Youth Olympic Games Delegation Flag Presentation Ceremony and Pre-departure Seminar" today at the Sports Joint Office Building. Sports Minister Li Yang will present the flag to the Chinese Olympic Games Chairman and delegation leader Cai Jiafu. Chairman Cai Jiafu will then present the flag to Chen Meiyan, the team leader of this delegation, to cheer for the athletes and team staff who are about to go.

The Dhaka Youth Olympic Games will be held in Senegal from October 31 to November 13. It will be the first time that an Olympic event will be held on the African continent. This year's Chinese Taipei delegation has a total of 37 athletes, who will compete in 17 sports including swimming, archery, track and field, badminton, five-a-side baseball, women's basketball 3X3, boxing, break dancing, free cycling, fencing, judo, sailing, skateboarding, billiards, taekwondo, triathlon and martial arts. Including coaches and team staff, the delegation totals 82 people.

Chairman Cai Jiafu said that in order to take into account the local climate, disease risks and medical environment, the Chinese Olympic Games held multiple medical protection work meetings for the delegation before departure. The Department of Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health and Welfare also specially sent epidemic prevention doctors to participate in the delegation's epidemic prevention planning throughout the entire process. This delegation will dispatch three team doctors, eight sports protectors and physical therapists. With the professional advice of the doctors, the delegation will hold two levels of vaccination and explanation meetings in advance to explain the local environment and precautions to the players and parents in detail. With the assistance of National Taiwan University Hospital, four vaccinations and epidemic prevention health education for yellow fever, hepatitis A, meningitis and influenza will be arranged. For malaria prevention, health education and preventive medication guidance will be provided based on medical professional assessment. Taiwan Toyo Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. also donated cellular influenza vaccine this time. The delegation is also continuing to prepare transportation, accommodation and various logistics work to help players participate with peace of mind and compete smoothly.

Chairman Cai Jiafu also gave three words to the players: "Take care of yourself, stick to your principles, and enjoy the stage." He encouraged the players to take care of their physical and mental conditions, abide by competition regulations and sports integrity, bravely show their training results, and cherish the opportunity to communicate with young players from all over the world.

After the flag-presenting ceremony, the delegation continued with a pre-departure briefing, with the team leader Chen Meiyan delivering an opening speech. The course covered administrative matters, medical instructions, Olympic formats and sports doping prevention, and helped the delegation members understand the competition regulations and precautions such as food and drinking water safety, mosquito prevention, medication and health management. The Chinese Olympic Games would like to thank the Ministry of Sports, the National Sports Training Center, the National Sports Science Center, the Department of Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the participating sports associations for their support and assistance, and will continue to work together to improve preparations for the competition.
