Irish MP calls for boycott of Nations League matches with Israel

Irish MP Daniel Ennis called on the national team to boycott the upcoming Nations League matches with Israel. His words are quoted by the Irish Mirror.

“There are things that are more important than sports. What does six points mean in the face of mass murder? What does six points mean in the context of ethnic cleansing and genocide? Their removal can be compensated. But there is no dead child. Tens of thousands of Palestinians have died too,” Ennis said.

Ireland and Israel will meet in a Nations League match on September 27. The match will take place in Budapest and will begin at 21:45 Moscow time. The teams are also scheduled to play each other on October 4 in Serbia.
