Entering Asia for the first time, the World Grape and Wine Conference concluded in Yinchuan

China News Service, Yinchuan, October 16 (Reporter Yang Di) The 47th World Grape and Wine Conference and OIV Member State Congress concluded on the 16th in Yinchuan, Ningxia. The reporter learned at the closing ceremony that the 48th World Grape and Wine Conference and OIV Member States Congress will be held in Georgia in 2027.

The member countries of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) account for 85% of the world's vineyard area and about 90% of the world's wine production. The 47th World Grape and Wine Conference and OIV Member State Congress is the first time that the conference has entered Asia.

This conference basically achieved full participation of all member states, and reviewed and approved more than ten resolutions that provide scientific guidance and rule support for the development of the global grape and wine industry. It focused on the latest scientific research results in four major fields: grape planting, winemaking, economics and law, and safety and health, and included more than 400 academic results.

During the conference, the "Helan Mountain Initiative" was released, calling on all walks of life to deepen cross-border, cross-production area, and cross-civilization exchanges and collaboration to build an all-round industrial cooperation community; the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences released the "Technical Specifications for Accounting the Gross Ecological Product Value (GEP) of the Eastern Foothills of Ningxia Helanshan Winery". The results showed that the total regional ecological product value GEP in the winery accounting area of ​​the Eastern Foothills of Helanshan Mountain in 2024 was RMB 34.495 billion, demonstrating to the world the ecological value transformation and green and sustainable development potential of the production area.
