Before the start of negotiations with his counterpart from Kuwait, Jared al-Sabah, Lavrov emphasized that there have always been good relations between Russia and Kuwait and expressed hope for their preservation.

“We had very good relations with your predecessor, and I am sure that it is in the interests of both countries to ensure their continuity. I look forward to our cooperation,” said the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

As a result of the negotiations, a “synchronization of watches” was held on key aspects of international and regional issues, including the escalation of tension in the Persian Gulf area.
