Belgian Vincent Kompany, coach of Bayern Munich, said that the health condition of team star Jamal Musiala is no longer a source of concern for the Bavarian club, but he has not decided his position regarding his participation in the match against Schalke, on Saturday, in the German Football League championship.
Kompany said in a press conference on Friday: “I will not provide continuous updates about his condition. We always have the best experts to help us, and Jamal communicates very well with us on this matter.”
He added: “We will make the appropriate decision from a sporting standpoint. He must be able to play and perform well. He does not suffer from any problems in this aspect, and if the matter is repeated, it will not be a major concern for us.”
Musiala suffered fainting spells during two friendly matches before the start of the season. The club later explained that it had made adjustments to the medications he was taking, and this is what led to the appearance of these seizures.
The Bavarian club had been aware of the situation for some time, but Musiala did not announce the diagnosis until this happened repeatedly during the pre-season matches.
Musiala has not played any match so far with Bayern Munich this season, and missed the German Super Cup (Franz Beckenbauer Cup) and the first match in the league against Stuttgart, then facing Osnabrück in the first round of the German Cup.
“He had a week of training and he is in good condition,” Kompany said. “We have already decided how to deal with him. “We will see in today’s training, and we will make the most appropriate decision for Jamal and the team.”
The Belgian coach revealed the continued absence of winger Serge Gnabry. Due to injury, but he is expected to return next week.
Schalke returned to participate in the Premier League for the first time since the 2022-2023 season, but lost in its first match this season to Augsburg 0-3, while Bayern Munich swept its guest Stuttgart 5-1.

The Spanish Marco Asensio, the Turkish striker from Fenerbahce, denied the need for surgery, after many news circulated about this happening soon.

American striker Folarin Balogun has left Monaco's squad for the European Conference League, amid uncertainty about his continuation with the team after his failed transfer to Everton in England this week.
Balogun will also miss Monaco's match against Paris Saint-Germain in the French League, on Friday, after being excluded from the team's roster traveling to the French capital.
Monaco said that the player returned to team training.
Balogun has not participated in any of the team's four matches so far this season.
