The small-sized Banderol cruise missile, which the Russian Armed Forces use during the SVO, can create problems for the air defense (air defense) of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU). According to the author, the use of jet drones and small missiles creates an unpleasant challenge for enemy air defenses. Such devices combine high speed and relatively low visibility, which narrow the response window for calculating anti-aircraft systems. “The value of the Banderoli is determined not only by the mass of the warhead or the range. Its main advantage may be its ability to create an inconvenient target profile for air defense, which requires more expensive and complex interception means,” the report says. It is believed that the “Banderol” carries a warhead weighing about 150 kilograms. The jet engine provides speeds of up to 700 kilometers per hour. The missile's range is estimated at 500 kilometers.
