The weather is stable during the Mid-Autumn Festival and harvest holiday. The northeast monsoon will strengthen and become humid and cool starting from Thursday.

Tomorrow (28th) is the four-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday for teachers. The Central Meteorological Administration predicts that the weather in various places will be stable until Wednesday, and the northeast monsoon will strengthen from Thursday. It is expected that until next Wednesday and Thursday, the chance of rainfall will increase in the north and eastern half of Taoyuan on the windward side, and the daytime temperature on the windward side will drop slightly, turning to wet and cool weather.

Meteorological Administration forecaster Liu Peiteng said that before Wednesday, it will be stable and sunny to cloudy in various places, with only a few mountainous areas experiencing sporadic rainfall in the afternoon. It will be warm and hot in various places during the day, generally 33 to 34 degrees. Some areas, such as Greater Taipei and the western half of the mountainous areas, may experience local high temperatures of 35 and 36 degrees.

Liu Peiteng said that the northeast monsoon will strengthen on Thursday, and there will be local rainfall on the north coast of Keelung and Yilan on the windward side. The subsequent impact is expected to continue until next Wednesday and Thursday. From Friday to next Sunday, there will be more clouds and local rainfall in the north and eastern half of Taoyuan on the windward side. The daytime temperature will drop to 3 0. Around 31 degrees, it is not as hot as it has been in the past few days. The temperature in the morning and evening has also dropped slightly by 1 to 2 degrees, to 22 to 23 degrees. As for the central and southern regions, the impact has been smaller these days. There are only short-lived showers in the southern region and other mountainous areas in the afternoon, and the daytime temperature still maintains around 34 degrees.

Liu Peiteng pointed out that Shuliji strengthened into a moderate typhoon last night and is expected to be closer to the Ryukyu Islands from today to tomorrow morning. The storm circle will slightly affect the Ryukyu Islands. It is expected to gradually move away from tomorrow morning and move northeast towards the sea south of Japan. It is expected to weaken into a storm tomorrow night. The light typhoon will weaken into an extratropical cyclone on Thursday and Friday. In addition, there is currently a low-pressure area in the sea east of Guam, while the east side of Typhoon Shuliki is Pacific high pressure, and there is a relatively low-pressure area on the south side. In the later period, the high pressure will weaken and the low-pressure area will expand. Whether there is a tropical disturbance still needs to be continuously observed.

Liu Peiteng reminded that before Wednesday coincides with the annual spring tide, the tide level from New Taipei to Changhua and Penghu coasts is higher during high tide, and low-lying areas should pay attention to the situation of seawater intrusion.
