During the Mid-Autumn Festival and Double Ten holidays, the Chiayi County Culture and Tourism Bureau recommends a family trip that doesn’t require a rush. Welcome to the Yuantan Ecological Park in the mountains and forests of Zhuqi Township. Walk along the Yuantan Waterfall Trail to enjoy the waterfalls, botanical gardens and rich ecological landscapes. After walking the trail, go to Yuantan Creek Restaurant to enjoy mountain products. From natural scenery to local delicacies, one trip can satisfy the whole family.

According to the Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Yuantan Ecological Park has three waterfalls: Yuantan, Xiangshan, and Xinhu. Along the way there are dense forests and gurgling streams, making it suitable for parents and children to get close to nature. The park also has a barrier-free trail that leads to Xiangshan Waterfall, allowing elders, families with children, and tourists with limited mobility to visit the mountains and forests according to their own conditions. If your physical strength permits, you can also walk up the stairs to the Botanical Garden. Along the way, you can admire arch bridges, streams, trees, and special boulders scattered throughout the park, and experience a mountain and forest scenery that is different from the city.
