A bus carrying tourists heading to Oktoberfest overturned in Bavaria.

A bus that overturned near the town of Buchloe in Bavaria was carrying a group of tourists to the Oktoberfest festival taking place in Munich, RTL TV channel reports with reference to its information.

News portal T-Online reported earlier on Sunday that two people were killed and around 25 injured when a tourist bus overturned near Buchlohe in the Bavarian region of East Allgäu.

“According to available information, the bus was traveling from Milan to Munich, where Oktoberfest is currently taking place. RTL received confirmation that the tourist group was heading specifically for the festival,” RTL said in a statement.

In addition, it became known that one passenger died on the spot, the second died in the hospital. Medical assistance was provided to 30 victims. Six were taken to hospitals by emergency helicopters, and two were taken away in ambulances. Another 22 passengers received assistance at a special point set up near the scene of the incident, some of them were also hospitalized.

The local police said that there were about 35 people on board the vehicle. According to RTL, the tour group on the bus consisted of Filipino citizens. They were accompanied by two bus drivers, both of whom were not injured. At the time of the accident, a driver with Italian citizenship was driving.
