Zhang Yuci, a member of the Taiwan Forward Front and a candidate for the Zhubei East District of Hsinchu County, said that the Hsinchu City Government will re-investigate students' bus needs and routes to school in the near future to include it in the discussion of the urban bus network. In view of the high overlap in commuting and schooling needs between Zhubei and Hsinchu City, Hsinchu County should follow up, re-evaluate Zhubei's bus and inter-county and city travel needs, and establish a transportation data and road network coordination mechanism with Hsinchu City.

Zhang Yuci said that people have recently reported to her the problems of Zhubei bus schedules, off-duty services, and school connections, involving multiple routes such as 5614, 5615, Express 5, Express 7, etc. The county government also recently announced that Express 9 will add more buses starting from Thursday and October 1, which shows that there is indeed a need for continuous review and adjustment of the current road network and buses.

She believes that there are currently multiple transportation services such as express buses and highway passenger transportation between Zhubei and Zhushi. Although each route belongs to different authorities, they actually serve the same group of students and commuters who move across counties and cities. If it is still handled separately by a single route and a single administrative region, it will be difficult to grasp the overall travel demand.

Therefore, she called on the county government to refer to Hsinchu City’s approach this time, and also follow up to re-examine students’ commuting to and from class, commuting peaks, actual ridership volume, flight reliability, and route overlap, and then exchange cross-county and city travel data with the Hsinchu City Government as a basis for adding classes and adjusting routes in the future.
