Refutes the Democratic Party's 'rumors about conveying opinions' regarding President Lee Jae-myung's press conference the day after tomorrow

At the press conference the day after tomorrow, President Lee said, "The party's opinion on current issues is conveyed as a rumor... different from the facts."

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporters Kim Nam-kwon and Jeong Yeon-sol = Han Byeong-do, floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, urged on the 16th regarding the second term cabinet reshuffle of the Lee Jae-myung administration, “I hope the People Power Party does not turn the personnel hearing into a stage for political strife.”

At the Supreme Council meeting held at Daejeon City Hall on this day, floor leader Han said, “I would like to express my deep regret for the People Power Party, which consistently consumes personnel hearings as political arguments.”

He pointed out, "Yesterday's confirmation hearing for Justice Minister candidate Kim Seung-won became a stage for political strife with shouting and pointing fingers, rather than a place to listen to the candidate's call and verify policies and capabilities," and added, "There is no time to waste with wasteful party tactics."

Regarding the confirmation hearing for candidates for Minister of National Defense Kang Shin-cheol and Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Hong Ji-seon, which will be held on this day, floor leader Han said, "I hope that the People Power Party will take a more forward-looking attitude and take responsibility for verifying policies and capabilities for the people at today's hearing."

Regarding President Lee Jae-myung's press conference, which is two days away, floor leader Han emphasized, "Some rumors are spreading based on speculation that the Democratic Party has conveyed its opinions to the Blue House on certain issues, as well as some articles that are different from the facts." He added, "The party did not convey any content related to the President's press conference."

He added, “People Power Party leader Jang Dong-hyuk also tried to turn the forum of communication between the President and the people into a political fight by talking about model answers as soon as the news of the press conference became known.” He added, “We hope that the People Power Party will stop making political conspiracy theories and calmly observe the President’s sincere communication.”
