According to the Metropolitan Crime Investigation Unit of the Incheon Police Agency on the 3rd, at 11:25 a.m. the previous day, Mr. A (68), CEO of a window construction company, and Mr. B (71), an employee of a window construction company, fell 18 meters to the ground from the balcony on the 6th floor of an apartment in Jakjeon-dong, Gyeyang-gu.

Mr. A and Mr. B, who were seriously injured in this accident, suffered cardiac arrest and were taken to the hospital by the 119 ambulance, but died.

It was found that Mr. A and others suffered an accident while removing the iron safety railing from the balcony and tying the newly installed railing with a rope to lift it from the first floor to the sixth floor of the apartment building.

The police believe that Mr. A and others were unable to withstand the weight of the railing and fell at the same time, and plan to investigate the specific circumstances of the accident.

The police estimated that the handrail in question was over 3m across and could not be moved by an elevator, and that Mr. A and others did not use aerial work trucks (sky trucks) to save costs.

It is reported that the company operated by Mr. A is a small business and is related to employee B.

A police official said, “We plan to request an autopsy of the bodies of Mr. A and others to the National Institute of Forensic Science to confirm the cause of death.”
