Liu Yujie wins by 4 strokes, China Women’s Golf Open welcomes first amateur champion

China News Service, Shanghai, October 12th The 2026 China Women's Golf Open (hereinafter referred to as the "China Women's Open") concluded all three rounds on the 11th at the Shanghai Chongming Island PGA Anying Golf Club. Liu Yujie shot 69 in the final round and won the championship with a total score of 209, 7 under par. She won her third title on the Women's China Tour and became the first amateur champion in the 20 years since the founding of the China Women's Open.

In the final round, Liu Yujie entered the state quickly at the beginning and made consecutive birdies on the 2nd and 3rd holes. At the same time, Shi Yuli, the leader after the first two rounds, suffered a "bogey" on hole No. 1. Liu Yujie had risen to the sole lead after three holes.

On the first nine holes, Liu Yujie scored 3 "birdies" and 1 "bogey". She ended the round with a score of 34, bringing her total score to 6 under par. Although there was no "birdie" recorded after the transition, she did not leave many opportunities for her opponents to catch up, and walked to the final hole with a two-shot advantage. On the 18th hole, Liu Yujie sent the ball about 2 yards away from the flagpole with her second shot, and finally made a "birdie" and won the championship.

This tournament is Liu Yujie's first "return" after two months. For her who is used to participating in consecutive competitions, such intervals are not common. After winning a national-level open championship like the China Women's Open, Liu Yujie said that she would regard this championship trophy as motivation to continue moving forward. Shi Yuli shot a 74 in the final round, and tied for second with Cui Jinghan, a young player from the National Youth Team who shot 72, with a score of 213, 3 under par; Ren Yijia finished fourth with a score of 214, 2 under par; Thai player Busa Bagan finished fifth alone.
