The "Xinjiang Electric Power Transfer to Chongqing" project is one of the 102 major projects in the country's "14th Five-Year Plan". It is my country's first UHV DC project to be sent to the Shagehuang New Energy Base, and it is also the first UHV receiving channel in Southwest China. The total investment in the project is 28.6 billion yuan. The line starts from Barkol Converter Station in Hami, Xinjiang in the west, and ends at Yubei Converter Station in Chongqing in the east. It passes through five provinces and cities in Xinjiang, Gansu, Shaanxi, Sichuan, and Chongqing. It has a total length of 2,260 kilometers, a rated transmission capacity of 8 million kilowatts, and a designed annual power transmission of over 36 billion kilowatt hours. After the project is completed and put into operation, it will open up the inter-regional power distribution channel between the northwest clean energy base and the Chengdu-Chongqing load center, build an ultra-high voltage power corridor directly connecting the northwest to the southwest, and further optimize the national energy resource allocation pattern.
According to reports, the "Xinjiang Electricity to Chongqing" project has a supporting power supply installed capacity of 14.2 million kilowatts, adopting the "wind, solar, thermal storage" multi-energy complementary integration model, of which wind power, photovoltaic, and solar thermal new energy have an installed capacity of 10.2 million kilowatts, accounting for 71.8%. It can deliver more than 18 billion kilowatt hours of green power every year, effectively easing the pressure on local consumption of new energy in Xinjiang. According to estimates, these green electricity can help Chongqing reduce coal consumption by 6 million tons and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 16.5 million tons every year, which is equivalent to the carbon reduction of planting 900 million trees. The ecological benefits are significant.
In the next step, State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power will continue to strengthen equipment operation and maintenance management and control, maintain the bottom line of safe production, and ensure the smooth operation of this energy artery spanning more than 2,000 kilometers, so that more Xinjiang green power can serve the country's "dual carbon" construction and energy security.

Just under a third of Singaporeans, or 31.4 per cent, believe nuclear energy promises a clean power source with the greatest potential, marking the highest acceptance rate in Southeast Asia, according to a new survey.

The lining concrete pouring of No. 1 tailrace tunnel of Kaikai Hydropower Station in Angola, contracted by China Energy Construction Gezhouba Group, was completed 77 days ahead of schedule. The power station has a total installed capacity of 2,172 megawatts. Upon completion, it will meet more than 40% of Angola’s power supply needs and create a large number of local jobs.

Taiwan's offshore wind power phase 3-3 selection deadline ended on September 30. Only two companies, Woxu and CIP, submitted bids, and the total capacity did not reach the 3.6GW target. Due to the high degree of overlap between the two cases, it is expected that a winner-take-all situation will emerge, and the remaining capacity will be merged into the 3-4 phase selection. This investment promotion will cancel the mandatory localization and instead adopt ESG and local industry commitment selection.

On September 29, reporters accompanied the "Nuclear Safety Culture Media Tour" to visit the Hainan Nuclear Power Base Emergency Command Center in Changjiang, Hainan. After completing a new round of transformation, the center has become the base's "emergency center" and has the ability to coordinate emergency response for multiple reactor types and owners and fight against extreme situations such as super typhoons.

The selection of candidates for Phase 3-3 of Taiwan's offshore wind power block development closed on the 30th. The Copenhagen Infrastructure Fund (CIP) announced the official submission of the tender for the Miemiao 3 offshore wind farm, demonstrating its determination to continue to deepen the Taiwan market.

In response to the demand for AI computing power, Minister of Economic Affairs Gong Mingxin said on the 30th that Taiwan will have 25 large-scale natural gas generating units online by 2035, with a device capacity of 26GW. Together with renewable energy, it can provide an additional annual power generation of 200 billion kilowatt-hours for computing power.
