Semyon Slepakov was sentenced in absentia to 400 hours of work in the case of foreign agents

The Moscow Magistrate's Court sentenced comedian Semyon Slepakov (included by the Russian Ministry of Justice in the register of foreign agents) to 400 hours of compulsory labor for evading the duties of a foreign agent. TASS reports this.

The hearings were held in absentia without the participation of the accused under Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Evasion of duties provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation on foreign agents”), according to which the punishment provides for up to two years in prison.

Slepakov was put on the international wanted list, and permission was issued for his arrest.

According to investigators, the comedian published an unmarked post about his status as a foreign agent. Through his lawyer, he made a statement in which he indicated that he had not been to Russia since 2022 and had not posted on any Internet resources under Russian jurisdiction. Slepakov emphasized that he does not understand the essence of the accusation.
