Russia's largest archery center opened in Kazan

KAZAN, September 14 – RIA Novosti. The largest archery center in Russia opened in Kazan on Monday with the participation of the Prosecutor General of Russia Alexander Gutsan, the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Mikhail Degtyarev and the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the press service of the head of the republic reports.

A new sports complex was built on the territory of the Tasma sports school. A specialized center will allow archers to train all year round. A large arena is equipped for training. The center is designed for 100 people per shift, with up to four shifts planned per day. The facility was built in less than a year.

The Prosecutor General of Russia noted that in recent years Kazan has turned into one of the largest sports centers in Russia, where ultra-modern sports facilities have been built and international level tournaments are held.

“Today, on the basis of the Olympic Reserve School, we are opening the largest special archery center in Russia. This event marks a new stage in the development of this ancient sport. I sincerely believe that new world-class sports stars will be born here,” Gutsan is quoted as saying in the message.

Minnikhanov called the opening of the archery center another important step in the development of the sports infrastructure of Tatarstan. He recalled that in 2028 Kazan will host the VII World Nomad Games, and archery is one of the main sports disciplines of the tournament.

“We are consistently implementing plans to create conditions for mass and professional sports. Archery is a sport that requires concentration, endurance and accuracy, develops character, teaches you to set goals and achieve them,” the press service quotes the head of the republic, who thanked everyone who participated in the construction and equipment of the center, as well as athletes and coaches, whose work makes such facilities popular and necessary.
