DPP spokesperson Lin Chuyin questioned the issue of co-governance between the two countries and listed four major controversies in Taipei City

Taipei Mayor Chiang Wanan and Kuomintang New Taipei mayor candidate Li Sichuan have recently raised the issue of "co-governance in both the North and North." DPP spokesperson Lin Chu-yin listed four major municipal controversies today (1st) and questioned the two's governance performance in the Taipei City Government in the past three years, ranging from children's safety, social work management, school nutritious lunches to public works. Controversies have continued one after another. "Two people can't manage a city well, so what on earth can we talk about co-governance in both the North and North? Wanchuan is so bad, how can Shuangbei be good?"

Lin Chuyin pointed out that under Chiang Wanan’s administration, Taipei City has faced tests in the past three years for its social protection network and people’s livelihood control. Following major controversies such as the recent child abuse case in kindergarten and the theft of social workers' compensation, recent food safety issues in Beishi's campuses have exploded. Not only Chengyuan High School, but also Jinhua Junior High School and Minzu Elementary School have reported collective discomfort among students. The city government immediately made a mistake. Jiang Wanan even went to the campus to "measure the salinity" for a show. He downplayed the blame and ignored the panic of hundreds of thousands of parents about nutritious lunches. Even the "smoke-free city" he advertised was just words on paper due to the lack of feasible supporting facilities, becoming another blank check in the eyes of the public.

Lin Chuyin further pointed out that Li Sichuan was responsible for supervising core municipal affairs such as public works, engineering and urban development in Jiang Municipal Government. He was packaged as an "engineering veteran", but when the actual report card was spread out, what he got in exchange was the disappointment of the citizens and municipal incompetence.

Lin Chuyin listed four major municipal controversies. First, it has been three years since the Dazhi Kitai incident occurred, and the resettlement of victims and the reconstruction of public buildings continue to stall. Second, the city government has aggressively cut down more than 3,000 street trees in recent years. The rough cutting of trees has stifled the greenery, triggering the outrage of civil groups. Third, the Taipei Arena has leaked every rain since it opened and has become an international laughing stock, and the city government continues to passively supervise it. Fourth, the improper planning of the Gongguan Circle project has caused back-blocking in an attempt to create the illusion that "Beijing City is not blocked, but New Taipei City is blocked."

Lin Chuyin emphasized that the two countries can cooperate, but they cannot fail to govern together; cities can join hands, but their responsibilities must not be diluted. She bluntly said that Taipei's municipal performance is clearly failing and its internal management is loose and incompetent. If this governance model is allowed to leak out, the citizens of New Taipei will only suffer jointly. She called on Jiang Wanan and Li Sichuan to put aside their political propaganda drama, first thoroughly clean up the mess of people's livelihood and work safety in Taipei City, and stop using "two-north co-governance" as a fig leaf to cover up their negligence.
