Forging an AI talent team suitable for the ASEAN market
The integration of industry and education has become an important starting point for training AI talents. However, why do many school-enterprise cooperation fall into the dilemma of "integration but not integration"?
Wang Jian, director of the Proposal Committee of the Nanning CPPCC and deputy chairman of the Nanning Municipal Committee for the Democratic Progressive Party, believes that the root of the problem lies in the disconnection between the two-teacher teams: college teachers have solid theoretical foundations but lack practical experience in the industry; corporate technical experts have practical experience but lack channels to enter the classroom.
How to cultivate the AI talents that the industry really needs?
Zhang Zhenrong, member of the CPPCC of the Autonomous Region and executive vice president of the School of Artificial Intelligence of Guangxi University, believes that talent training must first consolidate basic basic skills such as mathematics, programming, and algorithm engineering, and rely on the advantages of comprehensive universities such as Guangxi University to implement "AI+X" interdisciplinary training, allowing students to complete practical training in real corporate projects and industry competitions.
As universities optimize their training models, what urgent employment needs do companies have?
Wen Long, general manager of Guangxi Everything Mirror Technology Co., Ltd., said that the industry is in urgent need of technical talents who are proficient in spatial modeling, AI simulation iteration, and synthetic data optimization. "When companies develop the ASEAN market, there is an even greater shortage of compound talents who understand technology, are familiar with local cultural customs, and are proficient in business logic."
Get out of the laboratory and expand the AI application track
With a talent base, the key to whether the artificial intelligence industry can become bigger and stronger depends on whether it can be implemented in actual production and life.
Liu Jianming, a member of the CPPCC of the Autonomous Region and Vice President of Guilin University of Electronic Science and Technology, believes that as an open door to ASEAN, Guangxi can directly radiate mature domestic embodied intelligence solutions to the ASEAN market, truly forming a positive cycle from "research and development - integration - implementation - feedback technology iteration", "making Guangxi a key and irreplaceable hub for AI technology to connect with the ASEAN market."
If we want to truly activate application scenarios, is it enough to rely solely on technological breakthroughs? The answer is obviously no.
Wang Jian proposed that the implementation of scenarios is inseparable from the supporting support of the talent system. We can explore the establishment of mutual recognition of qualifications for China-ASEAN AI application engineers, establish an innovative application alliance, and accurately match the needs of multiple markets.
Wenlong believes that based on corporate practice, local application scenarios should be deepened and implemented first, and after completing practical tests of smart transportation and urban renewal projects, mature models should be copied and promoted to ASEAN's smart agriculture and smart manufacturing fields.
Promote Guangxi’s AI industry to unite towards ASEAN
After the local scene has been polished and matured, how to upgrade single-point enterprises to go overseas and upgrade them to the collaborative development of industrial clusters?
The China-ASEAN National Artificial Intelligence Application Cooperation Center (South A Center) is the key platform to undertake this mission. Pan Ya, deputy director of the Guangxi Artificial Intelligence Innovation Cooperation Service Center, said that the South A Center Park has introduced a number of supporting policies to create an entrepreneurial environment that can be settled with a bag. Currently, 102 domestic projects and 17 foreign-funded enterprises have signed contracts to settle in the park.
Pan Ya introduced that the South A Center has set up an artificial intelligence themed exhibition area at this year's China-ASEAN Expo, and plans to adopt a "1+N" exhibition model. While focusing on displaying the results of industrial cooperation, it will also support road shows and experience activities to build a window for Guangxi companies to connect with domestic leading companies and directly face ASEAN merchants.
After the platform is created from scratch, how to complete the leap from "building" to "becoming strong"?
Wenlong suggested that we should firmly base ourselves on ASEAN local adaptation, open up the entire chain of consultation, scenario docking, and project incubation, and effectively resolve the problem of "acclimatization" for companies going overseas.
Wang Jian proposed to continue to optimize the business environment, strengthen the AI hardware industry cluster, and build industry docking platforms by country and industry.
Lian Yuming, a member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chief expert of the Guangxi Major Strategic Decision Advisory Committee, believes that Guangxi should promote China and ASEAN to realize the sharing of opportunities, co-construction of rules, co-promotion of industries, co-governance of security, and ethical consensus, and truly serve as an artificial intelligence strategic hub linking China and ASEAN.
