During the Mid-Autumn Festival, Hall 5.2 of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) is very popular. During the 48th WorldSkills Competition, the WorldSkills Expo was held simultaneously. This is an innovative move of this World Championships. The "Skills Museum" where craftsmen exchange skills and skills and cultures blend is moved to the competition site, allowing the audience to immerse themselves in experiencing the skills and cultures of various countries while watching the competition.

Entering the exhibition hall, you can see the eye-catching "China Red" from a distance - the China Pavilion located in the center of the "Global Consensus" exhibition area. In a space of about 800 square meters, the exhibition starts with the four major inventions of papermaking, printing, compass, and gunpowder, and then moves on to scenarios such as Beidou navigation, space rockets, intelligent manufacturing, artificial intelligence, 6G communications, and the construction of a team of skilled talents in the new era.

The "One Province, One Skill" section presents the traditional skills and unique skills of craftsmen from all over the country in the same exhibition hall. A foreign guest from Namibia heard that Chinese tailors had good skills and reasonable prices, so he decided to customize a suit at the Shanghai booth and get it in two or three days.

The original intention of this skills expo is to allow people to communicate without barriers in the language of skills. At the China booth, live demonstrations of traditional craftsmanship made the audience stop frequently. In front of the Shanxi booth, there were ancient architectural models with criss-crossing beams and beams. The commentator said, "No nails or glue is needed." The foreign guests couldn't help but reach out and touch it, feeling the ingenuity of "wooden wood" in Chinese woodwork. In front of the Jiangxi booth, the turntable rotates gently, and the clay balls stand up and take shape on the fingertips. Jingdezhen's blank drawing skills are amazing. Heilongjiang moved the ice cubes from the Songhua River into the exhibition hall and carved them into the mascots of this World Championships, "Neng Neng" and "Qiao Qiao". Xinjiang sand paintings and red copper utensils are displayed, and the craftsmanship of the Silk Road comes to mind.

China’s booths emphasize “one skill at a time, and ingenuity”, while booths in Germany, Denmark, Sweden and other countries use display boards and works to tell their respective skills and culture, and interact with the audience through small games such as roulette wheel and industrial circuit splicing. There was a long queue in front of the Canadian booth, and visitors could win a commemorative medal by piecing together a map of Canada with colored wood pieces.

This skills expo also set up sections such as the "Baigongji" skills market and a career planning station. Spectators can not only watch the competition, but can also solder a small piece of circuit board, make a Chinese plate buckle, set a brooch with mother-of-pearl technology, complete small lightweight wood pieces at the woodworking station, or control a robot and 3D print a small work.
