Putin says Russia is not preparing for conflict with Europe, peace talks proposals are still on the table

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated today that Russia is not prepared for "any form" of conflict with Europe. In addition, Putin said that the proposal to resume peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine is still on the table, but Russia will consider Ukraine's recent attacks on Russia before deciding on the next step.

"There is a lot of talk in Europe about anticipating a Russian attack and therefore thinking that they have to prepare for hostilities, for a war with Russia. I want to stress again that we are not preparing for any kind of hostilities with Europe," Putin told reporters in Saint Petersburg.

As the Russo-Ukrainian war enters its fifth year, many of Ukraine's European allies have been worried that Russia may launch an attack on their territory.

Germany accused Moscow of planning a drone attack on Leipzig airport in August this year, while Poland warned that Russia could launch drones and missiles at countries that support Ukraine.

In addition, Putin said that Russia is considering whether to resume peace negotiations with Ukraine after Ukraine launched an attack on Russia recently.
