Is it possible to consolidate the Changhua County Magistrate election? New Taipei City Deputy Mayor Liu Heran is rumored to join Wei Ping as general consultant of the political campaign

There are only 56 days left before the November 28th election voting day. Is it possible for the Kuomintang to consolidate the Changhua County Magistrate election? Today (3rd), County Mayor candidate Wei Pingzheng took the initiative to issue a press release, revealing that Changhua County Mayor Wang Huimei’s favorite nominee for county mayor, New Taipei City Deputy Mayor Liu Heran, yesterday made a private trip to Changhua to visit Wei Pingzheng for face-to-face communication. Liu agreed in person to join Wei Pingzheng’s county advisory team to provide policy white paper suggestions and local development support. At the same time, he is willing to assist in the election and work hard with the Chief Election to win votes.

The election was more about unity than momentum. Less than 2 months before the vote, Liu Heran appeared in Wei Pingzheng's team, and there were different interpretations within the party. Some party insiders said that during the entire county magistrate nomination process, Liu Heran was a key player in the rift between KMT Chairman Zheng Liwen and County Magistrate Wang Huimei. Now he is willing to show up to support Wei Pingzheng, which is of symbolic significance.

However, some local people believe that Liu Heran has been away from Changhua for many years, and Changhua voters may not be familiar with him. "I wonder who Liu Heran is?" If he relies solely on shaking hands and asking for votes, he will have limited points in the election. However, Liu has administrative experience. If he can bring New Taipei City experience into the policy white paper and put forward specific suggestions from the aspects of industry, transportation, social welfare and local governance, his substantive effect should be able to win the resonance of the voters in the middle.

General Secretary Wei Ping said that as a descendant of Changhua, Liu Heran has long been concerned about the development of his hometown. He believes that Changhua is at an important stage of succession, and that both existing construction needs to be continued and the next stage of development direction needs to be proposed. Liu Heran affirmed the achievements of Wang Huimei's eight years of governance, and also recognized Wei Pingzheng's legal expertise, 30 years of experience in industry and international trade, and the county government's vision of "Changhua's positive energy and building Taiwan's seventh capital", so he agreed to join the county government advisory team.

Wei Pingzheng said that he was very grateful to Liu Heran for making a special trip south and supporting the development of Changhua with practical actions. Liu was willing to bring New Taipei City governance experience into the team, help enrich the policy white paper and invest in grassroots auxiliary elections, which is a great encouragement and assistance to the team. He will cherish this trust, propose a more comprehensive and pragmatic blueprint for county government, and continue the construction of Changhua.
