It is my pleasure to pay a state visit to the United States of America at the invitation of President Trump. On behalf of the Chinese people, I would like to extend my sincere greetings and best wishes to the American people.

China and the United States are both great countries, and the Chinese people and the American people are both great people. The Chinese and American peoples have long-term friendly exchanges, and the interests of both sides are deeply intertwined. The two countries should become partners rather than rivals. Realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and making the United States great again can absolutely go hand in hand, achieve mutual success, and benefit the world.

This year is a critical year for the development of China and the United States. When President Trump visited China in May this year, we agreed to build a constructive strategic and stable relationship between China and the United States and provide strategic guidance for the future development of China-U.S. relations. China and the United States should meet each other halfway, promote the formation of a stable relationship that focuses on cooperation, has moderate competition, controllable differences, and can hope for peace, and find a way for China and the United States to get along correctly as two major countries in the new era. I have confidence in this.

The world is developing and times are changing, but the historical logic of peaceful coexistence between China and the United States has not changed, the good wishes of the two peoples for friendly exchanges have not changed, and the international community's general expectations for China and the United States have not changed. I look forward to having in-depth exchanges with President Trump on major issues related to bilateral relations and the world situation, constantly enriching the connotation of China-US constructive strategic and stable relations, and expanding the space for exchanges and cooperation between China and the United States in various fields. I also look forward to extensive contacts and deepening friendship with people from all walks of life in the United States. I believe that with the joint efforts of both sides, this visit will achieve fruitful results, enhance the well-being of the two peoples, and add hope to world peace.
