Korean racehorse Clean One ranked 5th... Won Japan’s Dragon Wells in Korea Sprint

Japanese racehorse Diktaean achieved his second consecutive victory in the 2026 Korea Cup (total prize money of 1.6 billion won), the most prestigious international competition in Korean horse racing.

In the Korea Cup, an international race held at Let's Run Park Seoul, Gwacheon-si, Gyeonggi-do on the 6th, Diktaean, along with jockey Yano, beat Sunday Funday, who was in second place, by a whopping 6 lengths (a difference in body length of 6 horses) and won the championship prize of 800 million won.

Diktaean saved his strength at the rear in the early stages of the race, then quickly overtook 6 horses in the middle of the race and entered the lead.

Afterwards, he won by beating Sunday Funday, who was maintaining the lead.

Amazing Khan took third place, and Clean One, the strongest horse in Korean horse racing, who won the Grand Prix last year, ranked fifth.

The Korea Cup is an international competition where 1,800m long-distance athletes compete. This year, it was the first competition held in Korea to receive a G2 rating.

In the Korea Sprint (G3, total prize money of 1.4 billion won), a 1,200m sprint event held on the same day, Japan's Dragon Wells took first place and won the prize money of 700 million won.

Vincero Cavallo, a Korean horse, ranked third.

Chairman Woo Hee-jong of the Korean Racing Association said, "The fact that this year's Korea Cup will be held as Korea's first international G2 race is the result of the efforts that Korean horse racing has made to internationalize over the past years," and added, "I am grateful to the horse racing officials and fans at home and abroad for showing great competition with world-class racehorses."
