(Yongin = Yonhap News) Reporter Gwang-ho Kim = Yongin City, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 27th that it will prepare and implement various measures to restore people's livelihood next year, including expanding the issuance of local currency.

First, the city plans to increase the size of local currency issuance by 44.4% from 22.68 billion won this year to 32.76 billion won next year. Through this, the plan is to increase the number of annual beneficiaries by about 30%.

In connection with local events, we are also promoting a project that provides 10% cashback when paying with local currency at traditional markets and alley-type shopping malls.

In particular, in the case of the Jungang Market, we plan to develop it into a representative residential tourism market in the metropolitan area by creating smart arcades and complex convenience facilities, discovering and nurturing star (promising) stores, and upgrading the Starlight Madang night market.

It was decided to increase the number of alley-type shopping malls, currently at 33, to 38 by designating five more next year.

For small business owners, we provide expanded support for each life cycle, including start-up, growth, and resurgence, with special loan guarantees, advertising expenses, consulting, and store environment improvement.

We plan to alleviate the burden on small business owners in financial blind spots through microcredit secondary preservation support projects, such as supporting a portion of the interest on microfinance loans for small business owners in financially vulnerable groups.

In addition, the city will increase the number of public jobs hired, such as Hope Dream jobs, local community jobs, Yongin-type jobs, jobs for women with experience, and new-age career-type jobs, by 242 people (15%) from 977 to 1,219 this year.

Among these, the new-aged career job project, which will be implemented for the first time next year, is a project that provides support of up to 5 million won per person in the name of recruitment subsidies and employment retention incentives if local companies hire new-aged workers for more than 12 months, including a three-month internship period.

In addition, we plan to support local small and medium-sized businesses in developing domestic and overseas markets through product sales promotions, holding export and investment consultations, and opening overseas offline stores.
