Duran: Ankara stands with Damascus in the face of Netanyahu’s “destabilizing activities”

Duran stressed Ankara's firm support for Damascus in the face of what he described as "destabilizing activities."

In statements reported by the Turkish media, Duran directed harsh criticism at the Israeli Prime Minister, highlighting three main axes: First, Duran pointed out that “Netanyahu’s repeated threats and lies against Turkey and Syria only reflect the reality of his increasing international isolation,” pointing to Tel Aviv’s failure to gain any legitimacy for his escalating aggressive actions.

He reaffirmed the Turkish constants, saying: “Turkey will continue to stand firmly alongside the countries that pursue a peace-based policy in the region, led by sisterly Syria, as part of our tireless efforts to combat the destabilizing activities practiced by Netanyahu, who is now classified globally as a perpetrator of genocide.”

Duran concluded by saying, "Turkey's peaceful and sober foreign policy will inevitably thwart the tricks of ignorant people, like Netanyahu, who do not hesitate to ignite the entire region and sacrifice the lives of civilians in order to ensure their shaky political future."

These firm Turkish statements come in the wake of the Israeli air strike that targeted the Abu Al-Duhur base in the southern countryside of Idlib, Syria. This base is considered a strategic location, and its targeting comes within the framework of a series of Israeli violations of Syrian sovereignty, aiming - according to observers - to expand the scope of escalation in the region and to strike any attempts to restore stability or strengthen the presence that Ankara supports deep inside Syria, which sparked a wave of regional and international condemnations.
