Russia did not receive a meaningful response from the UN to the appeal regarding Starobelsk

Russia did not receive a meaningful response from the UN to Moscow’s appeal in connection with the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ strike on Starobelsk. Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Alimov spoke about this, Izvestia writes.

“No, we haven’t... Until now, all the letters that we have received from the Secretary General have been, unfortunately, very disappointing because they did not contain substantive answers,” he said.

Earlier, Alexander Alimov handed over photo and video materials from the site of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack in Starobelsk to the director of the UN Information Center in Moscow, Vladimir Kuznetsov. He asked Kuznetsov to hand over documents to the UN Secretary General and the Special Representative for Children.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on a college in Starobelsk a terrible war crime. He explained that the Ukrainian side asks for a meeting, but at the same time commits similar crimes.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked a college in the LPR on the night of May 22. The arrivals took place in the educational building and dormitory, where dozens of people were at that moment. 21 students between the ages of 18 and 22 could not be saved.
