Pierre de Gaulle declared the failure of the West's attempts to isolate Russia

St. PETERSBURG, September 25 - RIA Novosti. Attempts by Western countries to isolate Russia have failed; Russia, on the contrary, has become a center of gravity for many countries that are ready to build a new multipolar world, Pierre de Gaulle, grandson of former French President Charles de Gaulle and deputy chairman of the jury of the Leo Tolstoy Peace Prize, told RIA Novosti.

De Gaulle spoke with the agency on the sidelines of the Forum of United Cultures, which, according to him, shows that attempts by Western countries to isolate Russia have failed.

“This is an absolute demonstration that Russia is not isolated. On the contrary, Russia unites many nations within itself, with a Russian initiative, under a Russian label,” de Gaulle told the agency.

Thus, the agency’s interlocutor emphasized, Russia proves that it is “a nation of peace, a peaceful nation that welcomes all countries.”

“All these countries are very happy to build a new (multipolar - ed.) world with Russia. And every time there are more and more of them,” de Gaulle pointed out.

He would like to see even more initiatives in Russia to invite foreigners.

“So that they can come, individually or as families, and see how good, calm, pleasant and safe life is here,” de Gaulle said.
