Cai Genyan, who plays the role of Wei Xinyu, the wealthy wife, even joked that this scene was her "big breakthrough in life". She originally thought it was just a simple tug-of-war with Li Guoyi and Yao Chunyao, but she didn't expect that as soon as the director called Action, she was directly sandwiched between the two men and pulled into the water. They scuffled in the rice fields, mocking themselves as "an immersive rice field experience". After the filming, the three of them were soaked to the skin and covered with straw, mud and insects. They were so embarrassed that they were exhausted and collapsed in the rice fields for a long time. When they got up, they even found snails stuck to their pants! Paohua was still frightened when recalling the fire scene. She said it was the first time she had filmed such a large-scale fire scene. The flames burned from all sides and were very close to her face. The real high temperature impressed her deeply. Since she had to cough non-stop during the play, she even "coughed until she went home without making any sound" after filming. She could only drink a large bottle of milk to soothe her throat.

The original script envisaged Wei Xinyu using hot water to counter Qiu Longtai's PTSD, but Huang Diyang believed that the character had reached the end of the story and "should not be as simple as just hot water or hot black tea." So after discussing with the director, the staff got inspiration from the crew's hot and sour soup for dinner and upgraded the hot black tea to a more impactful "hot and sour soup." Huang Diyang said with a smile that since what Longtai is most afraid of is burns and traumatic memories, he should let this counterattack "pour directly into the ears, like pouring into the head!"
