Fujian Province's "Integration Plan" for cultivating young film talents from Fujian and Taiwan is officially released

China News Service, Pingtan, September 13 (Reporter Yan Xu) The 6th Pingtan IM Cross-Strait Youth Film Festival "Youth Movie Night" was held in the Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone, Fujian Province on the evening of the 12th. The 2026 Fujian and Taiwan Youth Film Talent Training "Integration Plan" (referred to as the "Integration Plan") was officially released.

The "Integration Project" is sponsored by the Fujian Provincial Film Bureau, co-organized by Xiamen University, Fujian Radio, Film and Television Group, and Straits Publishing and Distribution Group, and jointly implemented by the Propaganda Film Management Office of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee, Pingtan IM Cross-Strait Youth Film Festival Organizing Committee, and Xiamen University Film School.

The "Integration Plan" aims to cultivate and strengthen the youth film work force of Fujian and Taiwan, promote the integrated development of the two sides of the Taiwan Strait and the mutual promotion and prosperity of Fujian and Taiwan film creation. The organizer strongly invites young filmmakers from both sides of the Taiwan Strait to actively apply and work together to tell the story of a family on both sides of the Taiwan Strait with light and shadow.

It is reported that the "Integration Plan" will issue a solicitation notice in the near future. To apply for a project, you must have at least one main creative person registered in Taiwan, no more than 45 years old, registered in Fujian, with a Fujian company as the first producer, and the future film duration should be no less than 90 minutes. Among them, projects with elements from Fujian and Taiwan, reflecting cross-strait culture, telling the story of Fujian and Taiwan, and showing the new image of Fujian, and film projects that have won awards from important domestic and foreign film festivals (exhibitions) will be given priority.

In terms of review, a review team will be composed of senior directors, screenwriters, producers, and scholars from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, and no more than three outstanding projects will be selected in the end. The project funding amount is RMB 1 million to RMB 3 million per unit.

During the implementation of the project, we will provide full-process tutoring, connect with industry cooperation, coordinate film shooting bases and location resources in Fujian Province, and promote the project at festivals and exhibition platforms such as the Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival, Silk Road International Film Festival, and Pingtan IM Cross-Strait Youth Film Festival.
