North Korea accuses South Korea and Japan of nuclear submarine development as U.S. nuclear proliferation strategy

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Boram Yoon = North Korea justified its attempt to strengthen its nuclear forces by criticizing South Korea and Japan's push to possess nuclear submarines as a U.S. nuclear proliferation strategy.

Choi Joo-hyeon, an international security affairs critic, said this in an article on the 16th titled 'The absolute factor in global nuclear security disturbances - Washington's move to expand the nuclear submarine alliance', the Korean Central News Agency reported on this day.

Critic Choi took issue with the remarks of a U.S. Navy official recently reported in the media regarding Korea and Japan's push for nuclear submarines, criticizing them for "making comments that actively encourage Japan and Korea to possess nuclear submarines."

U.S. Navy officials met with reporters in the Asia-Pacific region on the 10th and expressed a positive stance on Korea's push to possess nuclear submarines and on some in Japan's claim to possess nuclear submarines.

Critic Choi argued, "This demonstrates that Washington's 'AUKUS 2.0' initiative, which enables the spread of military nuclear technology to non-nuclear allies, has entered the full-scale expansion and implementation stage."

He criticized, "The United States' hypocritical behavior of talking about protecting the nuclear non-proliferation system and then sitting back and freely providing the means of nuclear attack to its subordinate allies on the premise of enormous financial profits is nothing more than a cheap ploy to cover up its own criminal nuclear proliferation crimes." He criticized, "The irresponsible and malicious practices of the United States, which are becoming more common day by day in the nuclear field, are a special risk factor that is accelerating the erosion of the international nuclear non-proliferation system."

At the same time, they justified their attempt to strengthen their nuclear forces, saying, "This highlights more clearly the need for our country to strengthen the means of deterring nuclear war in a mass manner without momentary stagnation or stagnation."

He also urged, "The international community must immediately make a fair and uncompromising assessment of the United States' maneuvers that are causing a catastrophic nuclear domino situation by ramping up nuclear proliferation activities all over the world, and must make concerted and responsible efforts to oppose it."
