Seodaemun-gu issues 3 billion won worth of Seodaemun Love gift certificates and holds a direct transaction market in celebration of Chuseok

Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Chief Park Woon-ki) announced on the 16th that it will open the '2026 Chuseok Direct Transaction Market' in the area of ​​Hongje Falls Square and Cafe Falls Terrace from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the 18th and 19th.

At the market, 57 companies from 33 cities and counties across the country will present about 300 items, ranging from holiday items such as Korean beef, apples and pears, to local specialties such as gulbi and deodeok, and gift items such as flower tea.

By reducing the distribution stage, it is sold at a lower price than the market price. The district said, “The discount rate for some items is up to 40%,” and “Korean beef will be sold 20 to 25% cheaper than the market price depending on the item, which will ease the burden on residents’ shopping carts ahead of Chuseok.”

At the market, businesses such as Seodaemun-gu's Baekryun Market, Yeongcheon Market, Eugene Shopping Center, Hongje Alley-type Shopping Mall, Good Price Store, and Sinchon Youth Food Store participate and sell a variety of food such as gimbap, tteokbokki, sundae, dumplings, steamed buns, hot dogs, small rice cakes, pretzel rolls, and coffee.

Participating companies voluntarily donate up to 5% of the event proceeds to help neighbors.

In addition, the district will issue Seodaemun Love Gift Certificates worth 3 billion won starting at 4 p.m. on the 17th to ease the burden on shopping carts and increase neighborhood consumption ahead of Chuseok. This is an increase of 1 billion won from last year’s Chuseok issuance (2 billion won).
