In the south of Moscow, the first stage of reconstruction of Simonovskaya embankment has been completed

In September 2026, the first stage of reconstruction of Simonovskaya Embankment was completed in the south of Moscow. Next year it will be extended to the Third Transport Ring (TTK). This was announced by the head of the capital’s Urban Development Policy and Construction Complex, Vladimir Efimov.

He noted that the extension of Simonovskaya embankment to the Third Transport Ring is an important stage in the creation of a new unified transport route from Krasnokholmskaya embankment to the 2nd Yuzhnoportovy passage.

“The project involves the construction of a three-kilometer-long road. In the future, the new road network will be integrated with the Marc Chagall embankment, which will create alternative options for car owners to travel around the city. We plan to complete the work by the end of 2027,” said the head of the Urban Planning Complex.

The project provides for the reconstruction of Projected Passage No. 782, as well as the creation of new exits from Leninskaya Sloboda Street to the Third Transport Ring. For the convenience of pedestrians and cyclists, Efimov assured, sidewalks and paths will be equipped.

As Vasily Desyatkov, head of the Moscow Department of Transport and Engineering Infrastructure Construction, added, about 300 personnel and over 50 pieces of equipment are involved in the work. “Now specialists are busy creating utility networks: storm sewerage, heat supply and communications. In some areas of the project, sub-base pavement and retaining walls are being installed,” he said.

Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin opened the first section of the new Simonovskaya embankment.

The construction of road and transport infrastructure facilities in the capital corresponds to the goals and initiatives of the national project “Infrastructure for Life”.
