Huiji District is the core area for Zhengzhou to implement the Yellow River national strategy. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the district built 50 kilometers of green belts along the Yellow River and 44 square kilometers of Yellow River beach parks; the water quality of the Huayuankou section of the Yellow River has stably maintained Class II standards for six consecutive years, and the Huiji section of the Yellow River was rated as the "Provincial-level Beautiful and Happy Yellow River"; Zhengzhou City's Yellow River water source (Mangshan, Huayuankou) located in Huiji District was included in the "National Important Drinking Water Source Directory".
Li Weiguang, head of the Huiji District Government, introduced at the press conference that the "15th Five-Year Plan" period is a critical period for comprehensively promoting the implementation of the Yellow River national strategy. Huiji District will make good use of the development model of "ecological protection + cultural inheritance + industrial development + flood prevention and security" to vigorously promote Ecological protection and restoration of the Yellow River Basin actively revitalizes the "ecological assets" of the Yellow River floodplain area, promotes the in-depth integration of ecology, cultural tourism, and industry, accelerates the formation of a development model in which ecological protection and high-quality development go hand in hand, and uses excellent ecological cultivation to generate new momentum for high-quality development.
Wang Zhifeng, member of the Standing Committee of the Huiji District Party Committee and deputy district chief, introduced at the press conference that during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, Huiji District will continue to further promote ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin, focusing on four aspects of work: "strengthening ecological protection and restoration, guarding the bottom line of the Yellow River's safety, promoting the transformation of ecological values, and telling the story of the Yellow River in the new era."
For example, in terms of promoting the transformation of ecological value, Huiji District will rely on the Yellow River Embankment and S312 to promote the "stringing of beads into a chain" of superior resources along the Yellow River. Efficiently integrate the ecological resources of the Yellow River beach park, vigorously develop new formats such as camping, study, and sports tourism, and actively create new leisure and tourism consumption scenarios along the Yellow River. In terms of telling the story of the Yellow River in the new era, we will deeply explore the Yellow River culture, canal culture, and ancient Chinese cultural resources to create an iconic cultural tourism brand. Relying on the construction of the North Campus of Henan Museum, we will create a comprehensive cultural and tourism complex with the linkage of "campus area + area". Strengthen the protection of the iron smelting sites of the Han Dynasty, the ancient city of Xingyang and other sites, promote the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage such as Yellow River mud inkstones, pyrography, and paper-cutting, and deepen the creation of Yellow River cultural themes, so that the Yellow River culture can be integrated into the times and infiltrate people's hearts.
