Candidates for the June 3 local elections in North Chungcheong Province will campaign in full force over the weekend.

On the 23rd, the first weekend since the official campaign for the June 3 local elections began, candidates in the North Chungcheong region traveled throughout the region to target voters.

Shin Shin-han, the Democratic Party's candidate for North Chungcheong Province, campaigned intensively in the Goesan, Jecheon, and Danyang regions along with former provincial governor Lee Si-jong, chairman of the Central Party standing election committee, Lim Ho-seon, provincial party standing election committee chairman, and National Assembly members Lee Yeon-hee and Lee Kwang-hee.

Candidate Shin emphasized, "The northern and central regions of North Chungcheong Province, including Goesan, Jecheon, and Danyang, are the core of the development of North Chungcheong Province and should no longer be left out. We will make North Chungcheong a region where people return, not a region where people leave, and where parents do not have to worry about their children's future."

In response, People Power Party candidate Kim Young-hwan, who is running for re-election, made a mark by campaigning with B-boy campaign groups in Seowon-gu, Cheongju, Goesan Oil Market, and Yukgeori Market.

Candidate Kim said, “Power must be checked, and power that is not checked is bound to become corrupt. If we explain this to the people of the province, we will definitely be able to win.”

Democratic Party candidate Lee Jang-seop, who is running for mayor of Cheongju, communicated with voters at the Bongmyeong-dong agricultural and fisheries wholesale market and at Madong Creative Village, where former President Roh Moo-hyun's memorial is located.

People Power Party candidate Lee Beom-seok continued his election campaign in the Oksan Market area and plans to communicate with voters in places where many residents gather, such as Munam Ecological Park and the Cheongnam University Jazz Tonic event hall.

Chungju Democratic Party candidate Maeng Jeong-seop focused on making himself known by going to the five-day market in Eomjeong-myeon and Judeok-myeon, while People Power Party candidate Dong-seok Lee went on street campaigns at national pension intersections and other places.

Democratic Party candidate Cho Byeong-ok and People Power Party candidate Lim Taek-soo, who are running for Eumseong-gun mayor, had three competitions while campaigning in major and small markets.

In North Chungcheong Province, a total of 349 candidates ran, with 191 workers being elected, including 1 provincial governor, 1 superintendent of education, 11 heads of basic organizations, 38 metropolitan council members, and 140 basic council members.
