For the creator of “Masyanya” Kuvaev* they asked for almost 6 years in prison

St. PETERSBURG, October 2 - RIA Novosti. During the debate, the state prosecution asked the creator of Masyanya, foreign agent Oleg Kuvaev*, to punish him in the case of evading the duties of a foreign agent and public calls for action against the state in the form of five years and 11 months in prison, RIA Novosti was told in the joint press service of the courts of St. Petersburg.

“In the debate, the state prosecutor requested for Kuvaev* five years and 11 months in prison, a fine of 290 thousand rubles and a five-year ban on activities related to the administration of Internet resources,” said the agency’s interlocutor.

As the press service of the city courts reported, Kuvaev* is accused of committing crimes under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Article 280.4 (public calls for activities directed against the security of the Russian Federation) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, as well as Part 2 of Article 330.1 (violation of the procedure for the activities of a foreign agent) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

The prosecution believes that no later than July 14, 2023, Kuvaev* posted a video on a public channel outside the Russian Federation demonstrating ideological hatred and enmity towards the current Russian government and its officials, turning into Kuvaev*’s hatred of the SVO. The press service of the courts added that, according to the prosecution, the video also includes propaganda of ideas in the form of calls directed against the security of the Russian Federation.

It is also noted that Kuvaev* in 2023-2024 did not provide a report on foreign sources, the volume of funds and other property received from these sources. Thus, Kuvaev* avoided fulfilling the duties provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation on foreign agents, that is, he violated the procedure for the activities of a foreign agent.
