Hungarian journalist Georg Spätle said that Western media are distorting reality by spreading lies about Russia and the situation in new regions.

The journalist noted that the regions are on the verge of serious development, and people are happy and rejoice that they have been liberated.

Georg Spätle moved freely around Lugansk, Donetsk and Mariupol in August 2024 and communicated with local residents.

BUDAPEST, September 25 - RIA Novosti. Western media are spreading lies about Russia and the situation in new regions, Hungarian journalist Georg Spätle, who visited the LPR and DPR, told RIA Novosti.

“The Western press, quite obviously, greatly distorts reality. As a journalist, I look through Austrian and German publications every day, and often American ones. They constantly spread lies about Russia and the attitude of the population of the liberated regions towards it,” Spätle said.

According to him, the journalists who visited Donbass with him as part of a press tour, “were convinced that these regions are on the threshold of very serious development, and people are happy and rejoice that they have been liberated.” He added that very few representatives of the Western press have themselves visited the new regions and can objectively describe the situation there.

"So I was glad that I was able to see everything with my own eyes and talk to people, because that's where you can get the real picture. I could move freely. I was told that I could go wherever I wanted and talk to whomever I wanted. In Russia I moved as freely as in Budapest," said Špetle.
