CHELYABINSK, September 13 - RIA Novosti. The recreated higher military tank command school was inaugurated in Chelyabinsk on September 13, said regional governor Alexey Teksler.
In Chelyabinsk, the presentation of the Battle Banner to the newly recreated Chelyabinsk Higher Tank Command School took place. Also, first-year cadets took the military oath, after which they marched in front of the Battle Banner on the school parade ground.
“Today is a historic day for our Russian army, Chelyabinsk, the entire Southern Urals - after a many-year break, the glorious history of the Chelyabinsk Higher Tank Command School will continue. The revival of the school is a direct response to the serious challenges that have arisen before our country. In the context of a special military operation, it is more important than ever to strengthen the defense capability of the state, to educate professional, strong, dedicated personnel officers,” the head of the region said at the opening ceremony.
He added that the military school will train not only highly qualified specialists who will defend their homeland, but also “patriots who passionately love their homeland.”
Texler noted that today's cadets will honorably continue the traditions of the Chelyabinsk Higher University, and also, as before, will be the pride of the region and a forge of worthy officers.
Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation - Head of the Main Military-Political Directorate of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Viktor Goremykin called the opening of the recreated school historical. “Today we are witnessing a historical event. With the revival of the Chelyabinsk Higher Tank Command School, a new chapter is opening in the history of domestic military education. This is not just the opening of another educational institution, but the revival of an officer school of a special system for training military personnel,” Goremykin said at the opening ceremony.
According to him, the main event of today is the presentation of a military banner to the school, which will be in the same ranks with the military historical banners awarded to the Chelyabinsk school in 1944 and 1968. “The battle flag is not just an official symbol and a military relic - it is a symbol of honor, valor and glory. I am convinced that the battle banner of the revived Chelyabinsk Tank School will become a reliable connecting thread between generations of cadets and officers, which will inspire professional excellence and strengthen camaraderie,” he noted.
At the opening ceremony of the school, Artem Zhoga, the plenipotentiary representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Urals Federal District, expressed confidence that the cadets will cope with all the assigned tasks. “Many heroes of the Russian Federation have emerged from these walls... Be worthy of the title of cadet of the Chelyabinsk Higher Tank Command School. Bear this proud title with honor and dignity. Complete combat missions. Love your homeland. Be honest with yourself. Protect your family and friends. Patience. I am sure that you will cope with all tasks, no matter how difficult it may be,” said Zhoga.
