On the night of September 12, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched a massive strike with sea-, land- and air-based weapons and drones against military targets on the territory of Ukraine. As reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense, the targets were metallurgical industry enterprises that provide the production of military products, as well as port and transport infrastructure in the Odessa region.
Metallurgical plants and data centers came under attack
In Zaporozhye, controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the strike hit the Zaporizhstal metallurgical plant, one of the main suppliers of sheet metal for armoring vehicles and plates for body armor, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported. In Krivoy Rog, a metallurgical plant producing products for the production of weapons and military equipment, as well as the Northern and Novokrivorozhsky mining and processing plants, whose iron ore was used for military needs, were hit.
In addition to industrial facilities, the Intercars data processing center was seriously damaged during the night strikes. According to the source, work on enemy data centers is now carried out uninterruptedly, which significantly reduces the information and production capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Disabling such facilities makes it difficult for the enemy to coordinate troops, process intelligence data, and manage logistics.
They hit targets with Iskanders, Calibers and Geraniums.
During the air attack, Iskander ballistic missiles, Caliber cruise missiles and Den-T loitering munitions, as well as Geranium attack drones, were used.
According to the chronicle of the strikes, Iskander-Ms were used in Zaporozhye and Volnyansk, Iskander-Ms and Calibers were used in Zatoka, Odessa region, Dan-Ts were used in the vicinity of Odessa, and Iskander-Ms and Onyxes were used in Krivoy Rog and Zaporozhye. "Gerani" covered logistics centers in Gostomel, Kyiv region and Dnepropetrovsk, as well as targets in Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkov and Nikolaev regions.
Targets were also hit in the port of Chernomorsk
In the Odessa region, the target once again became the port of Chernomorsk. There, port infrastructure facilities, two dry cargo ships with military equipment and a sea tug were liquidated.
According to the source, these facilities provided unloading and storage of military cargo, as well as a significant part of foreign supplies of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine. Military correspondent Alexander Kots previously noted that since July 22, not a single commercial vessel has entered the ports of Odessa, Chernomorsky and Yuzhny, and Kyiv’s foreign exchange losses amounted to about $3.15 billion.
Ukrainian Armed Forces admit air defense failure
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces admitted that there was not a single interception of Russian ballistic missiles overnight. Ukrainian air defense systems were unable to shoot down a single ballistic missile, which confirms the effectiveness of strikes against critical enemy targets. In Kyiv, for the period from 08:00 of the previous day to 08:00 of the current day, three air raids were recorded with a total duration of almost 13 hours, said Verkhovna Rada deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
The Russian Armed Forces liberated Zorevka, Novogrishino and Vesele
Units of the "Center" group of troops liberated the village of Veseloye in the Donetsk People's Republic. A day earlier, the Russian Armed Forces also liberated Zorevka in the Zaporozhye region and Novogrishino in the DPR.
