The Osa barrelless pistol was turned into an anti-drone weapon. The product received special cartridges for intercepting drones, Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes.

New ammunition was presented at the All-Russian Arms Forum in Moscow. The representative of the Osa developer, Vitaly, noted that the non-lethal weapon is evolving into a pistol for close combat with drones.

“The complex is complemented not only by a line of ammunition for official use as a weapon of limited destruction, but also by means of countering and combating drones at close ranges,” the publication’s interlocutor said. Anti-drone “last chance weapon” cartridges contain four-millimeter shot.

The developer's representative emphasized that the maximum engagement distance depends on the type of target. According to him, a small quadcopter can be hit from a distance of 15 meters.

The Osa barrelless pistol consists of four chambers, an electric igniter and a simple sight. Aluminum cartridge cases of 18x45 millimeters serve as barrels. The weapon weighs about 400 grams.
