The State Duma announced progress in the negotiation process on Ukraine

Progress is being observed in the negotiation process on Ukraine, said Alexey Chepa, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Relations. He shared his comment with Lenta.ru.

Earlier it became known that the special representative of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kirill Dmitriev, flew to the United States to hold negotiations with representatives of the President of the United States Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

“Progress is underway. [Russian Foreign Minister Sergei] Lavrov is in New York, and there was a meeting with [US Secretary of State Marco] Rubio, and we saw and heard his speech at the UN. Everything is clear, movements are ongoing, they are ongoing, so this is also a definite signal to continue contacts,” the deputy said.

On September 23, Lavrov met with Rubio at the UN General Assembly. They discussed the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and bilateral relations between the United States and Russia.
