A 70-year-old man in Beijing City swallowed cold medicine and drove in a trance. He rushed into the parking lot like he was bowling and knocked down 16 cars.

A series of car accidents occurred in Taipei City's Zhongshan District around 10 a.m. this morning. A 77-year-old man surnamed Zhou was driving through Lane 356 of Longjiang Road. He was suspected to be in a trance due to taking cold medicine. The vehicle lost control and hit a car and 15 heavy-duty motorcycles parked on the roadside. It also affected two motorcycle riders, causing minor scratches and contusions on two people. One of them was sent to the hospital. The police were reported to the scene and confirmed that Zhou was not driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

A preliminary investigation by the traffic team of the Zhongshan Branch found that the old man surnamed Zhou was going to a nearby market to buy Guiling paste. On the way, the vehicle first hit the motorcycle in front of him, veered to the right without stopping, and directly swept into the parking space of the motorcycle on the roadside. Mr. Zhou said that he was in the habit of taking cold medicine, and he was feeling unwell and in a daze at the time. He had no memory of the accident.

In order to clarify the exact blame and cause, the police have reviewed surrounding surveillance footage to restore the complete vehicle route and collision process.
