Woman in her 70s suffers cardiac arrest following a fire at a detached house in Naju, Jeollanam-do

(Naju = Yonhap News) Reporter Min Hyun-ki = A fire broke out in a single-family home in Naju City, Gwangju, Jeollanam-do on the night of the 4th, and a woman in her 70s was taken to the hospital in cardiac arrest.

According to the Jeonnam Gwangju Integrated Fire Department on the 5th, a fire broke out in a single-story detached house in Donggang-myeon, Naju-si at 10:39 p.m. the previous day.

Mr. A (in his 70s), who was inside the house due to the fire, was rescued in cardiac arrest and taken to a nearby hospital. It was discovered that Ms. A's husband, who was with her, evacuated on his own.

Firefighting authorities deployed manpower and equipment and extinguished the large fire at around 11:30 p.m., 51 minutes after receiving the report.

Police and fire authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire and the extent of damage as soon as the remaining fires are cleared.
