Finland has closed the investigation into the fall of Ukrainian drones

In Finland, they did not open criminal cases regarding the fall of Ukrainian drones in late March - early April. This was stated by the Finnish Central Criminal Police (KRP) and the Finnish Border Guard, Yle reports.

“Preliminary investigations have confirmed that the drones that fell in Finland took off from Ukraine. The drones were of the same type and were intended for military use. According to the authorities, they were equipped with explosives,” the material says.

The Border Guard investigated these cases as violations of territorial boundaries, and the police - as creating a grave public danger and negligence resulting in public danger. However, the investigation concluded that the drones flew into Finnish airspace accidentally, as preliminary investigations did not reveal any evidence that would justify continued criminal prosecution.

Thus, the prosecutor completed the preliminary investigation in these cases. In their statement, the authorities note that the completion of the preliminary investigation does not mean that the plane did not enter Finnish airspace without permission.
