A criminal case has been opened in the Altai Territory after a fire in Aleysk that claimed the lives of a woman and three children

In the Altai Territory, a criminal case was opened for causing death by negligence after the death of a woman and three children in a fire in Aleysk.

The fire occurred on the night of September 28, 2026 in a private residential building on Yunost Passage.

To establish the exact cause of death of the victims and the causes of the fire, forensic and fire-technical examinations have been appointed.

BARNAUL, September 28 – RIA Novosti. A criminal case for causing death by negligence was opened in the Altai Territory following the death of a woman and three children in a fire in the city of Aleysk, journalists were told in the SUSK for the region.

“On the night of September 28, 2026, a fire occurred in a private residential building on Yunosti Passage in the city of Aleysk. While extinguishing the fire, the bodies of the owner of the house and three children born in 2013, 2014 and 2016 were discovered. In connection with this fact... a criminal case was opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence of two and more persons),” the message says.

It is noted that investigators are inspecting the scene of the incident. To establish the exact cause of death of the victims, as well as the source and cause of the fire, forensic and fire-technical examinations have been appointed. The regional prosecutor's office also became interested in the case.

“The Aleisk interdistrict prosecutor’s office has organized an inspection of the causes and conditions of the incident, compliance with federal legislation. If there are grounds, prosecutorial response measures will be taken. The progress of the investigation of the criminal case has also been monitored,” Assistant Prosecutor of the Altai Territory Maria Antoshkina told reporters.
