Puddles and Damages due to Heavy Rain in Istanbul

Following the warnings of the General Directorate of Meteorology, due to the short-term heavy rain in some parts of the city, puddles formed on the streets and some underpasses, houses and workplaces were flooded.

On the European Side, thunderstorms affected Beşiktaş, Fatih, Şişli, Bakırköy, Sultangazi, Eyüpsultan, Esenler, Küçükçekmece and Kağıthane districts.

Teams continue to work on the flooded underpass in Zincirlikuyu due to heavy rainfall. It was learned that the water discharge of the underpass, which was closed to vehicle traffic, will continue until the morning hours.

A car and a pickup truck entered the pit caused by a collapse on Zeyrek District Eski Mutaflar Street in Fatih. Citizens around pushed the vehicles and took them out of their location. The road was closed to traffic by stripping.

A landslide occurred in the land between the buildings in Eyüpsultan Merkez Mahallesi Sayfiye Street due to the rain. 25 people living in the surrounding buildings were evacuated by the fire brigade and AFAD teams who came to the region upon notice. The area was secured by stripping.

A motorcycle traveling on Mehmet Akif İnan Street in Esenler overturned when its driver lost control of the steering wheel due to rain. While the driver and the motorcycle were thrown away in the accident, the moment of the incident was recorded by the security camera.

The parking lot in the basement of a building in Küçükçekmece Kanarya Mahallesi Çalıkuşu Street was flooded. Citizens took their vehicles out of the parking lot with their own means.
