Ireland secured a 3-0 victory against Israel in their UEFA Nations B League match

The Republic of Ireland and Israel faced each other in the UEFA Nations B League Group 3 match played in Debrecen, Hungary.

The Republic of Ireland took a 3-0 lead in the first 25 minutes of the match and won the match with the same score.

Jack Moylan, who scored the last goal of the match, took off his black armband, kissed it and raised it in the air in celebration of the goal.

Irish football players wore black armbands in memory of those who lost their lives in the conflict in Gaza, and looked at the ground while the Israeli National Anthem was sung.

In the pre-match ceremony between the two teams, the handshake ceremony, which is traditionally performed after the anthems and symbolizes the principle of "fair play" and mutual respect, was not held.

After the anthems, the two teams did not line up side by side for the handshake ceremony. Irish players did not shake the hands of Israeli players. There was no mutual exchange of pennants between team captains. There was no exchange of jerseys between the players of the two teams after the match.

Ireland National Team goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu, who refused to play against Israel, was also not included in the match squad.

Making a statement before the match, Ireland National Team Coach Heimir Hallgrimsson stated that they were uncomfortable about facing Israel and said, "We are not playing with genocide, we are playing against genocide. We are playing against Israel, we are not playing with Israel."
