Ireland National Team protested against Israel match with black tape and heads bowed

The Irish National Team displayed a remarkable attitude in the pre-match ceremony in their UEFA Nations League match against Israel.

Irish football players bowed their heads during the Israeli national anthem as they walked onto the field with black bands on their arms.

THEY TOOK THE FIELD WITH BLACK TAPE

Ireland National Team players wore black bands on their arms during the match. Irish Football Federation CEO David Courell announced that this decision was taken in memory of all the people who lost their lives in the conflict.

In the ceremony before the match, Irish football players bowed their heads while the Israeli national anthem was sung. Players also did not participate in the traditional pre-match handshake and jersey exchange ceremonies. The players also did not shake hands with Israeli football players during the ceremony.

SOMEBODY DID NOT MATCH

Ireland National Team goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu withdrew from the squad before the match against Israel. Bazunu explained that his decision not to participate in the matches against Israel was based on his personal belief.
