Mayor of Manaus Renato Junior appears in video driving and filming with daughter at his side

The mayor of Manaus, Renato Junior (Avante), published this Sunday (27) videos in which he appears driving and filming with his cell phone. Next to him was his daughter, inside the moving car. Renato was heading to events for candidate David Almeida (Avante), who left city hall to run for governor of Amazonas. (watch the video above)

In the videos, the mayor's daughter appears in the passenger seat without a seat belt. At times, she gets on her knees while the car is moving.

🔎 According to the Brazilian Traffic Code (CTB), using a cell phone while driving is a very serious infraction.

g1 requested a note from Manaus City Hall, the Municipal Institute of Urban Mobility (IMMU) and the State Department of Traffic of Amazonas (Detran-AM), but until the publication of this report there was no response.

💰 Points and fine amounts

According to the Brazilian Traffic Code, driving using a cell phone is an average infraction, with a predicted fine of R$ 130.16 and four points on the National Driving License (CNH).

Holding or touching the device while driving is a very serious infraction, accounting for 7 points on the driver's license and a fine of R$293.47.
