Puddles and Damaged Accidents with Heavy Rain in Istanbul

Following the warnings of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM), the downpour had its effect in some regions of the city.

Due to the rain, puddles formed on the streets, and drivers and pedestrians had a difficult time. Some citizens walked under the rain, while others took shelter in subway and bus stops.

SOME HOUSES AND WORKPLACES WERE FLOODED AND DAMAGED ACCIDENTS OCCURRED

On the European Side, puddles formed on some roads due to the heavy rainfall in Sultangazi, Küçükçekmece, Bahçelievler, Bakırköy and Esenyurt.

According to AA news, drivers had a difficult time due to puddles on the D-100 highway, and damaging accidents occurred.

A workplace in Sultangazi Cebeci District, some houses in Cumhuriyet and Esentepe districts and the parking lot of a business center were flooded.

On the Northern Marmara Highway, drivers had difficulty moving forward due to the heavy rain.

UNDERPASS IN ZİNCİRLİKUYU WAS CLOSED TO TRAFFIC

Due to heavy rain, the underpass in Zincirlikuyu was flooded. Some buses could not make their trips due to the underpass being closed to vehicle traffic.

A puddle formed on Güzeldere Street in Kağıthane. Vehicles had difficulty moving on the street.

On the Anatolian Side, rainfall was effective in Ümraniye and Çekmeköy districts.
