Naryshkin warns of the danger of a widespread conflict in the Eurasian space and describes the West's strategy as "on the brink of the abyss."

Naryshkin said during a press conference following the twenty-second meeting of the Council of Heads of Security and Intelligence Services of the CIS countries, held in St. Petersburg: “Recently, NATO conducted a series of maneuvers with the aim of simulating the operation of the blockade of the Kaliningrad region. The formations of the Russian armed forces in the region, in the border regions of northwestern and western Russia, and the Baltic Fleet, have all the capabilities to deter any aggression and defeat any aggressor.”

The director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service added that the Russian Federation has sufficient strength, capabilities and resources, including technical military resources, to ensure its security.

In a broader warning, Naryshkin stressed that the risk of a large-scale conflict in the entire Eurasian space is a “real danger,” raising “the most serious concerns.” He pointed out that European leaders believe in the "strategy of balancing on the brink", which was developed by Western intelligence in the last century.

He also pointed out that Western politicians are using the "myth of the threat from the East" to increase military spending, indicating that European society is "spoiled and extremely perverted" and objectively unprepared for a large-scale war.

Naryshkin pointed out that the European Union guarantees readiness for a large-scale armed conflict with Russia by 2030 in its basic conceptual documents, specifically in the "White Paper on European Defense" titled "European Rearming Plan. Preparedness for 2030." He pointed out that this approach aims to transfer the industry to the military path and modernize the army and infrastructure.

The director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service called for strengthening the collective security system for Russia and the CIS countries, considering that this cooperation is "the most important element of stability in the greater Eurasian space."

He also recalled the example of the Cuban missile crisis in 1962 as a successful case of breaking out of the spiral of escalation, noting that diplomacy in the current situation “no longer works” because of Western politicians, which slides countries towards an all-out war with devastating consequences.
